V-stream Xpert Pvr Plus Program

Posted on by admin

Hello mate, I've been trying to set up GBPVR using my V-Stream Xpert DVB-T Card as you suggested, but it still won't work. I've edited the bda.ini and loaded the drivers on a completely fresh XP SP2 build but when I come to tune the channels in it just pops up loads of errors and hangs, The closest I've come before to it working was when I did all of the above on top of installing the DVBT application which came with the card. Then GBPVR can pick up all the BBC channels if you last watch a BBC channel on the DVBT app, or pick up all the ITV channels + C4 if you were last watching one of them with DVBT and so on. But it can't pick up and store them all at the same time. Also if I take out the 'BDA' from the line PIN_TUNER_OUT=BDA MPEG2 Transport then the errors go away, but after trying to tune the channels, none are found!

If you can help me get this piece of crap working I'd really appreciate it as I'm pulling my hair out. It's potentially great if only I can get GB PVR working. But the software that comes with it is totally rubbsh.

Thanks in advance, Tommy. Sorry to hear you cant get your card working. I will try to help but in no way am i a programmer. Right - nearly there! After initially trying Media Portal with no success, I went back to try some more GBPVR tinkering as I agree with you that MP didn't look as good, I re-built the machine again, added the info to bda.ini as suggested, but then instead of installing the latest K-World drivers as suggested, I installed the ones suggested here: it all works now:-) All the channels mapped and I can watch the live TV flawlessly.

It's just a shame that none of the programs I set it up to record over night actually recorded! New Munich Strawberry Patch here. The new folders were created, but had no content.

I'm sure this is simple enough to sort out. When all the channels tuned in last night it was like winning the lottery. I was ready to stamp on the effing V-Stream card at this point, Thanks for all your help Stig - you are a legend mate! As usual you are right. As I had installed it on a vanilla build with only XP SP2 and GBPVR I never had a multiplexer. I ran the Mux Checker and it told me what you already knew.

So searching through the threads here I installed Power VCR to get the Cyberlink filter and everything is recording fine. The PC also wakes itself from hibernation, records and then goes back to sleep which is exactly what I was hoping for. Just one thing though (isn't there always?) I was slightly surprised with the size of the files produced when recording.

When using the satanic software that comes with the V-Stream card, it averages out at about 2Gb per hour, but now it is over 3Gb per hour. Is there a way of varying the quality so I can reduce the file sizes? Thanks, Tommy. Not sure what other countries are like but in the UK it depends on the channel which have higher bandwidth so for example a 1 hour recording on bbc1 might be 2GB where as on ftn it might be 1GB also it depends on whether there is alot of scene movement which tends to increase file sizes.

If you don't need mpeg2 files I suggest you use mencode to re-encode to divx or something similar then a typical 1 hour file can be between 300-600MB. You can get this to run automatically with editing the postprocessing. Driver Modem Telkomsel Flash Unlimited. bat.

See http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Tips/TranscodeToXVID. Just to round all this off, the reason the recordings were so large was that I followed one of the old threads on this site which described how if you didn't have a mux installed then you should install the trial version of PowerVCR3 which would install a mux you could use even after the trial had run out. Running the mux checkers gives this result: Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer FILE: C: Program Files CyberLink PowerVCRII MpgMux. Snk Vs Capcom Svc Chaos Comic. ax VERSION: 3.0.10.21 But as already stated I was surprised how large the files were. Hi - I have been searching for a fix for my card as above and landed here. The card was working to some degree (I remember I had quite a time getting it to work in the first place) until I fitted a new hard drive and reinstalled XP with service pack 2 and all the automatic downloads.
